Dell withdraws from the cloud - Is that a sign?

What is Dell doing?

We all know that there is little money cuurrently in the cloud but we also know that the whole world will be on the cloud sooner or later.

But Dell decided to drop its vCloud IaaS offering .. short sighted? Possibly yes.

Anyway, here is what Gartner had to say about this ..

In my mind Dell is confused and is confusing its customers. We have decided to let Dell sort itself out before we do more business with them.

We have done the same with HP on the PC side and now with IBM Intel servers.

We have enough challenges as it is .. so any vendor who is not projecting an image that inspires confidence goes off our list until they sort themselves out.

No Dell for us for now.
